Michelle Kwan left Torino as a true Olympian

Olympic gold medalist is one of the greatest honor for athletes (sorry, NFL players), but without one doesn't mean you are not at the top of the sport. It only means you are not the best at that particular game. Michelle Kwan is the perfect example.

On a side note, American Zach Lund also left Turin before his sports started. Unlike Michelle, he was forced to leave by the anti-doping officials. Although he claimed that he doesn't know the hair-restoration drug he's been taken is one of the newest dope-masking drug listed in 2005, I don't feel so bad for him. As a professional athlete, knowing which drug is on the prohibit list is the athlete's responsibility as long as the list is public. Blaming the system and say this is not his fault is like telling CHP officer he didn't notice the speed limit sign.
