Zidane in World Cup 2006

Zidane in World Cup 2006

Pretty good Video

What did Materazzi said to Zidane?

In the end, Zidane has the Golden Ball instead of the Trophy.

Although I like to find out what's been said to him by Materazzi, it may be impossible, while it would be very hard to believe Materazzi said nothing special. Either way, it's horrible for Zidane, but more to FIFA who's prompting anti-racism (if it's what's been speculated) throughout the game.

The best comments I've seen regarding on this incident is from comments to a story in the NY Observer:

"... at any rate, what a horrible way to end his career as a god, ... by showing that he is just a man."

According to Wikipedia, here's what the lip readers said:
"Since both players refused to comment on the incident, there are various allegations about what led to Zidane's violent outburst. His agent, Alain Migliaccio has claimed that a "very serious" comment by Materazzi provoked the attack.[7] Reportedly, the deaf forensic lip-reader Jessica Rees was employed to analyze the video sequences with the help of an Italian translator. According to these reports, Materazzi spoke in Italian - a language understood by Zidane due to his time spent with Juventus F.C. - and first told him: "Hold on, wait, that one's not for a nigger like you." As the players walked forward, Materazzi allegedly said: "We all know you are the son of a terrorist whore." Then, just before the headbutt, he was seen saying: "So just fuck off." [8] [9] According to Brazilian TV Rede Globo, a lip-reader claimed that Materazzi twice called Zidane's sister a prostitute.[10] Earlier claims about Materazzi having called his opponent a "dirty terrorist" have been denied by Materazzi, who reportedly said: "It is absolutely not true, I did not call him a terrorist. I'm ignorant. I don't even know what the word means." [11][12]"

Zidane, France should be proud of you

Let's not saying anything else until someone read the lips of Materazzi from replay. France may not get the world cup this time, but Zidane is my hero.

I did like both semi-final games, but the 2006 World Cup fanal is more of a drama than soccer.

To finish off, let's hear what French President Jacques Chirac, who watched the match at Berlin's Olympiastadion, said (from BBC):

"I don't know what happened, why Zidane was punished. But I would like to express all the respect that I have for a man who represents at the same time all the most beautiful values of sport, the greatest human qualities one can imagine, and who has honoured French sport and, simply, France.

"It was really a matter of chance," he added on the result. "So it's not for me to console them. I have simply to express my admiration and respect."

Vive le france, Viva Italia

Okay all my predictions are out to the ocean as my performance in the softball game yesterday. But I'm pleasantly surprised. Both semi-finals are fantastic. I've been amazed how well all four team played.

Let's see who's going to be happy on Sunday. The truth is, all real fans of soccer.
