1 in 100 US adults are in Jail!

Now the US leads the world in both percentage and population for the number of inmates. What bothers me more is the fact that "one in nine black man between 20 and 34 are behind bars". I just don't understand why those politicians love to send people to jail for smoking pot, which doesn't kill nearly as many people as smoking anything else.

The real question is what's the percentage and population for people who's been in jail? Soon, there will be one day that we have to allow people with criminal records to run for political office. Wait, we've done that already.

The 80th Oscar

Jon Stewart is OK, but I'm sure everybody by now misses Billy Crystal.

It turns out I haven't watched many of these nominated movies. Here's the list of movies I'd like to see from the nominations:

Michael Clayton
There will be blood
Juno
Atonement
La vie en rose
The golden compass
Sweeney Todd: the demon barber of fleet street
Sicko
Taxi to the dark side
No end in sight
Operation homecoming: writing the wartime experience
Enchanted

Natasha Bedingfield: Unwritten (feel the rain on your skin)

Heard a few lines of the song a few times on Pantene commercial.

Lyrics can be found here:

I am unwritten, can't read my mind, I'm undefined
I'm just beginning, the pen's in my hand, ending unplanned

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your innovations
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten

Oh, oh, oh

I break tradition, sometimes my tries, are outside the lines
We've been conditioned to not make mistakes, but I can't live that way

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inner visions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins

Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inner visions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins

Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten
The rest is still unwritten
The rest is still unwritten

Oh, yeah, yeah

The year of THEM vs. The year of YOU

This is the reason why I love reading the Time: making good points even it's biased, just in time and lasting over time, and very importantly, very nice writing.

Why you should not vote for McCain in November?

Although he's not a strong supporter of the FISA Telecom amnesty bill, he will not stop it. I'd always thought republican value personal freedom more than their pro-business side. Guess I am wrong about that, at least in this republican administration.

SAT for presidential candidates?

Heard this on NPR. It's a joke, but so funny when GW is the current president who for sure will fail every single one of these.

"The presidency of the United States, arguably the most important job on planet Earth, may be the only non-entry level position anywhere that requires no specific training or demonstrated competence."

"The Presidential Knowledge and Fitness Assessment (PKFA) would consist of several sections. Part I: 500 questions on grammar, spelling, literature, social studies, mathematics, and science. Part II: a complex personality profile. Part III: a polygraph exam. Thus would we eliminate those with limited language skills that reflect impaired thinking, critical ignorance of world history, economics, and the workings of science, abundant self-importance, uncompromising arrogance, and fundamental inclinations toward torture or deceit."

"For too long we have accepted the notion that politics is a dirty business capable of making the strangest bedfellows. Whoever's in the bed, it's time we changed the sheets."

Oh, the author is Gary Earl Ross, a writer and a professor at UB's Educational Opportunity Center.

My new HT820 bluetooth steoreo headset

Got it from Costco for my T-mobile Wing. It's a bit more of disappointments so far since there's been so many problems when have it switching from audio mode to hands-free mode for phone calls. In addition, it was not very comfortable to have it hanging from the back of the head.

Other than the connection problem, the rest is actually fine. It has great built quality. As shown in the picture, it came with 110-240AC charger and a nice bag. The nicest thing about it is that Motorola uses mini USB as the standard for charging and connectivity. Since this is the same for My T-mobile Wing, V's Blackberry 8830, other bluetooth accessories, as well as the USB hard drive I can't live without, one connector cable is the only thing one would need. Forget about bring the 10 different power supplies in your next trip out. Just one cable will do it all. You may even charge your phone on the plane using your laptop.

The audio quality is very good. In the hands-free mode (if you can get it there), both the volume and microphone work well even with high noises during driving.

The Doritos ads in which the guy with a mouse trap was hilarious.

The screaming squirrel for Bridgestone

Budlight: the ability to fly:

Moment of Truth with Chad Johnson

And the Yahoo top five list sucks! The only one close to be funny is the Pepsi featuring Justin Timberlake.

Hilary vs. Obama

In their last debate, which is the only one I watched from beginning to end, I had to say that Hilary would be my choice of president. Obama just isn't ready.

I can understand that people wants change. Forgot where I saw this joke:
Time flies, it's like deja vu all over again. Last time I was in school, we were in a recession, there's a war in Iraq, Bush was the president, and someone named Clinton was running for the next one. The future of the last time proven to serve me very well, at least for 8 years. Will Hilary make it this time?

See the following two clips from Youtube:

and the response.
